Commercial carpet install in Franklin TN

Commercial Carpet install in Franklin

we installed this commercial carpet glue down in 2 different times the first in the front and the second install was in the back. The client was looking for new carpet that would help the building sell faster, I recommended Beaulieu's hedgerow it is a nice but inexpensive commercial carpet. The back section had vct and commercial vinyl down over the concrete we took up what could be and feathered out high sections with ardex feather finish.

Saving money on Commercial carpet

There are many ways you can save money on carpet, you can save on labor product or install method. I would save money buy glueing the carpet down if the application is acceptable such as office space. You can also get a very cheap product normally this is a 20 ounce olephin product, the only problem with this is that it also looks very cheap. I would suggest a little heavier graphic olephin like Hedgrove that looks a little nicer. Saving money on labor is almost making your entire investment a complete waste of money. Glue down installations are supposed to be the easiest install for our industry however cheap carpet and cheap labor normally makes you wonder why you spent the money in the first place. Cheap carpet doesnt seam together as well on average also it is faster to overlap both sides and cut through both layers of carpet to make your seams, this 6 months later will make your carpet ravel.

Pegram TN Sand and refinish job with steps

Hey Kevin Family is coming next week can you get this done? Sure.

We started this job on a Thursday and finished it on Saturday and I feel its a good example of what to expect when going through a sand and refinish project. The scope was 600 sq ft or a living dinning hall and kitchen floor steps and landings, this area is most of the downstairs the client moved all the furniture. On Thursday we sanded all day into Friday and coated the floor by 2pm went back on Saturday morning for the final coat and put up the shoe molding. So what did we do,

  • First thing Thursday we took up all the old shoe molding and brought the big belt sander in you belt sand 2 times once with 60 grit and then again with 100 grit and edge along the walls we fill in between sandings.
  • Next we buff the floor with an orbital sander 2 times with 150 grit and 220 grit screen paper edging along the sides every time with that grit of paper. and every time you sand you have to clean up the dust created we use a shop vac to cut down on the dust created.
  • Now the floor is completely sanded we are going to clean the floor with Paint Thinner picking up all the small particles of dust missed from vacuuming or sweeping.
  • Once the floor is clean one man is going to cut the floor in while the other is going to poly the middle and work our way to the door.
  • Now we have to wait for the floor to dry, we come back the next day buff the floor clean the floor and repeat coating the floor.
We did fix some spots in the floor and the steps and railing adding to the time it took to do this job.

a house that had water damage for sale in Kingston Springs tn

This house had a water leak many years ago the home owner finally decided to fix it when he wanted to sell his house. The floor was 2 1/4 white oak sand and finish over two layers of underlayment the top being press board the bottom being plywood. The pressboard needed to be totally replaced. That is the problem with putting hardwood flooring over pressboard the underlayment deteriorates. We also replaced one room of carpet beige, Job took 4 days to complete, one to install fix the floor sand it and coat the floor another to coat the floor again a day in between and the carpet on the final day.
