Forest Mix floor

Here are some pictures of a Forest Mix floor we installed.

Hey Kevin,

Attached are the pics. Not the best as they were done with my camera phone.

We had Kevin Middleton of Country Floors Direct install our new hardwood floors.
Kevin was very easy to deal with and the work and look of our new floors turned out great at a price I could not find lower anywhere! We are very satisfied with our new hardwood floors and are definitely going to use Kevin and Country Floors Direct again for some other areas in our home that we are going to have hardwood put down. We are also going to use them for some carpet purchase and installation as well.

Sincerely,

Mike R.

The Adams Family purchased 3/4 Solid Red Teak for most of their downstairs and up the steps and hallway. We are going back to put some poreclain tile in the bathrooms and carpet in the bedrooms. We also sanded and refinished their handrail, had Steven Lohr for Lohr Custom paints and more come out to sand and finish the door, and Randy for Hers and His Plumbing put the sink stool and dishwasher in. I took a picture of the marble fireplace we put that in as well. Hers and His plumbings number is 615-790-9414 Steve Lohrs Number is 615 668 7369

Power Stretching your Carpet.

The manufacture will only warranty carpet if it is stretched using a power stretcher with poles not a spike. The backing is made to be stretched into place and only can be done by using a power stretcher. Many years ago carpet had a different backing made of Jute a natural fiber that reacts much differently than todays backings. Although different manufactures put different backings on thier carpets one thing remains the same, they require you to power stretch the carpet with poles. If the carpet is not power stretched with poles it may loosen and wrinkle. The reason is the backing is synthetic and is designed to be installed tightly from wall to wall. You will get this every time at COUNTRY FLOORING DIRECT.

Animals and Carpet

We at Country Flooring Direct have a few choices in tems of carpeting if you have pets one of them has a lifetime warranty against all stains and is made out of corn oil and the other is a PET Polyester.

This is a picture of a job we just did, The lovely customer had cats and wanted a carpet that was easy to clean so, we put a closed cell urethane cushion down under a PET Polyester Carpet.

Carpets made from PET Polyester are:

Very Green made from recycled coke bottles

Very easy to clean, Naturally stain resistant

More affordable, you get more carpet for your dollar

The benefit of a close cell urethane foam is:

Doubles your Carpet warranty

Does not absorb dirt, and stains,

Feels softer under your foot

Hypo allergenic

cherry colored Laminate for a flooded customer.

A good friend Charlie from Hers and His Plumbing, 615 790 9414, referred us to this customer. We replaced carpet, vinyl, and tile with all new laminate and tile floor covering through the entire house. The customer needed new floor because of a small flood. The customer needed a floor right away so Country Flooring Direct came in that day, ripped out all the old floor, put the customers stuff in a pod, dropped off the new floor, and waited four days for the concrete floor to dry. From start to finish, the job took three working days or about one week from the time we dropped off the product to finish. As always, the jobsite was left clean.

What does Kevin think is Green In floor Covering?

Everyone in Flooring is going green. Green Carpet made from corn, Green Carpet made from recycled yarn or coke bottles, Green hardwood Green laminate. . . But in reality what is best for the environment? This is an opinion based on facts from my point of view.

Quality Solid Hardwood, Wool Carpet, and Ceramic Tile uses the least amount of Chemicals and has the best longevity. These are the floors I consider environmentally friendly.

Hardwood Is a natural, easily renewable, biodegradable product.

Preferably companies that are regional are better because they use less fuel in shipping the product to you. Our local hardwood mill Country Flooring Direct buys from is Graf Bros http://www.grafbrothersflooring.com/ They are located in Kentucky and make some of the most beautiful unfinished red and white oak available. We also carry Shaw that
manufacturers most of their wood in North Carolina and ForesBec is our Premium wood out of Canada http://www.foresfloor.com/en/en_plvernic.html . There is very little waste in
manufacturing hardwood flooring, if you look at the charts given by ForesBec you will see the country or Cheaper product is the wood left over from making the nicer hardwood and the wood left over from that is chipped into mulch. I have the ForesBec manufacturing video at home if you are looking for something to do on a nice night with your loved one.

Wool Carpets last for a very long time and is natural easily renewable biodegradable product.

Besides the backing there are very little chemicals used in the manufacturing other than most wool either comes from Africa or New Zealand and the cost factor of the Wood Carpet it is a very environmentally friendly floor. The wool alternative is PET Polyesters and Type 6 or "GREEN" Nylons or Corn Carpet these products are awesome and i recommend any of them if you are on a budget. However I recommend them for practicality and price reasons and not environmental reasons.

Tile is pretty explanatory its either rock mud or porcelain not very biodegradable and I don't know if we are in a dirt shortage, but it does last a very long time.

I do not think that engineered nor bamboo floors are more environmentally friendly than Oak or Brazilian Cherry because they use more chemicals in the process are more likely to be made over seas and do not tend to last as long. I do feel that Brazilian Hardwoods have a bad name in the environmental field from over harvesting that took place many years ago. Today Illegal harvesters are prosecuted very heavily and Tree plantations are providing most of the flooring you are walking on today from Brazil.

I do think it is really awesome that we are moving towards environmentally friendly products as a culture, but it is equally important that we do not let marketing divert our attention to products that are only "GREEN" in name.

Thank you for your time,

Shaw Laminate Natural Values SL224 Now offered at Country Flooring Direct

To serve our customers better we have started doing laminate. I have sold different lines of laminate flooring over the past 15 years however because of our great buying power ability on Solid Hardwood, we at Country Flooring Direct did not see the value in a laminate. Not until we brought on Shaw Laminate Natural Values Line it comes in 10 awesome patterns and has one of the easiest to use locking systems. When you can sell hardwood flooring as low as we do it is hard to appreciate the value of laminate, however do to customer demand we are able to install this product for as little as $4 including sales tax and necessary underlayments.

We have had great response from builders looking to save money and do it yourself customers. However my first Fairview TN customer got snagged by looking at Brazilian Walnut for twice the price but its just so dang good looking.

Best Regards,

Happy Shopping

3 1/4" Teak installed on a 45 angle

We installed 640 sq ft of solid Brazilian Teak in 2 days Mr. Boyd ordered the wood on Friday we dropped the wood off on Monday started installing on Wednesday and finished Thursday around 12. Notice the wood changes direction two times, once in the hallway and the other in the foyer. Mr. Boyd found us on Craigslist and took advantage of our Craigslist Special. I tried to take before and after pictures so you can get an idea of the process that would take place if you purchased flooring from Country Flooring Direct.

Brazilian Teak is especially hard approximately 3 times as hard as Red Oak. Has medium brown tones throughout the floor making it compliment almost any decor you have in your home. The Teak pictured is a mixture of red and yellow teak and is graded Select and Better, meaning the lenghts of the boards are longer and there is minimal blemishes in the finished product.
